Pentimento reveals part of a text by William Faulkner that includes "kill your darlings" and in this instance it refers to painting over previous work to "kill" off certain parts and leave something to hint at what lies underneath. 42x24 inches

Description:
After using paper towel to absorb some dye that I was using on a nother piece I saw how visually engaging the towelling was with its design and the absorbed ink. From there I elaborated. The piece is the metric version of 16x20 inches so a bit smaller.

Description:
Silt cloth is the plastic webbing used on construction sites to keep the dust from spreading. I have used it to create large woven panels as well as in smaller pieces such as this. It becomes strangely beautiful when unravelled. Most of this material found on roadsides. The figure is of Ricki Covette, "The World's Tallest Exotic Dancer." Her story is attached to the back of the painting.
