From free-ranging through construction sites to dealing with teenage angst, Margaret’s observations offer readers many points of identification. Humour and pathos drive the narrative, with insights into post-war housing tract culture, immigration and feminist issues. The memoir is a mostly true coming-of-age story from her days in Maple Park.
