Soft sculpture head and torso is supported by a straw base. She wears a red head scarf and her dress bears the names of many of the islands in the Caribbean. Her apron is embroidered with “Antigua” so perhaps that is where she was purchased. Eyes and mouth are painted. Artifact is culturally loaded with colonial implications.
